Free Press Journal, Mumbai: NCP leader Nawab Malik slams BJP for issuing new dates of MVA govt’s fall

The ruling NCP has lashed out at the BJP for issuing new dates of the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra.

NCP chief spokesman Nawab Malik on Wednesday claimed BJP has a one point programme of criticising the MVA government and counting its days.

However, Malik said three ruling partners Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress are working together and the government is quite stable and strong.

“BJP is making repeated claims that it will come back to power in a bid to avoid its legislators’ ghar wapsi,’’ he claimed. He was referring to NCP legislators who quit the party and were elected on BJP ticket in 2019 assembly elections.

“People are satisfied with the MVA government’s work to contain the coronavirus pandemic and tackle Tauktae cyclone and unseasonal rains in the state,’’ said Malik.

He however, noted that BJP leaders are trying to create confusion in the minds of the people of the state by saying that they will return to power. Malik’s statement came days after state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil said the state government will fall while everyone was asleep.

Meanwhile, Malik also targeted Ramdev for his recent statements against practicing allopathy doctors. “If you become a doctor without a degree, take action against such a doctor. A person who has not obtained a degree from any medical council cannot recommend treatment,’’ he noted.

“If Ramdev Baba has a degree from the Ayurvedic Medical Council, he can give advice to the people and campaign for Ayurveda. But if he is making statements to run his business then it is wrong,’’ said Malik.

“Ramdev Baba is not a doctor. He has not taken any Ayurvedic Medical Council degree. But he is constantly making some statements about treatment and also on allopathy,’’ said Malik. He opined that whoever is propagating superstition is dangerous for the country.

Malik expressed displeasure over the launch of Ramdev’s health products by the union health minister.
