Former employee files complaint with Chief Labour Commissioner against multinational company Meinhardt for not giving benefits

New Delhi: A complaint was filed by the employee of the multinational company Meinhardt Singapore Pte Ltd., who had worked as a Document Controller and Senior Document Controller for five years at the head office of the Indian division (Noida, Uttar Pradesh) of the company, against the company for threatening and forcing him to resign without giving him the promotion, salary increment, gratuity, decent compensation and leave salary that he was entitled to. The employee filed a complaint with the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) (CLC-C) (Central Government Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Courts (CGIT-cum-LCs)) on June 22, 2025. The company, which normally gives promotion and salary increment to all employees after completing 2 years, denied this employee a second promotion and salary increment even after four and a half years. The company deliberately forced this employee to resign after 4 years and 8 months in order to deny the statutory gratuity benefits on completion of 5 years of service.

On June 20, 2024, the company's HR & Legal Manager and Accounts Manager told the employee that "the company no longer requires your services and therefore you should resign and leave voluntarily." They informed him that if he resigned voluntarily, he would be given all the benefits, compensation and full leave salary, otherwise, if the company terminates him, no benefits or experience certificate will be given. The employee, who believed the company's promise, was forced to submit his resignation letter on June 21, 2024 without any further action. The company cheated the person who was dismissed from the company on July 23, 2024, by not providing any of the benefits promised to him after completing the one-month notice period.

The Full and Final Settlement (FNF) report sent by the company on 16-09-2024 states that the employee was paid just Rs. 7292/- privilege leave salary (Leave Encashment) for It was only informed that it would be given for 8.75 days. The employee, who had to quit his job due to the threat of a giant multinational company with administrative - political - economic influence, worked sincerely and honestly for 4.72 years i.e., 4 years 8 months & 19 days. Yet the company denied all benefits including compensation, gratuity and full leave salary without considering any human values and law.

The employee was paid 8 days' salary (Rs. 1613/day) less for working for 23 days in his last working month (July 2024). At the same time, the company offered the employee a total of just Rs. 7292/- (Rs. 833.37/day) as leave salary for 8.75 days. The company did not even agree to give it after asking for the salary slip of the last month several times.

This multinational company, which operates as a project management consultancy for several large projects in most states of India under various names like Meinhardt India Private Limited, Meinhardt Singapore Pte Ltd, and Meinhardt Australia Pty Ltd, is constantly exploiting and defrauding workers. Since the salaries of those working on various projects have not been paid for three to four months, the employees will be forced to resign from their jobs. Since the helpless workers are unable to file cases against this large company, they will remain silent and the company will snatch their arrears of salary. Those who continue to work without getting salary do not work sincerely. Since the employees leave due to not getting salary and those who are there do not work properly, the quality of the projects will deteriorate and clients will throw this company out of the projects. Meinhardt, who was the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) of the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, was mercilessly dismissed from its consultancy job by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) before the end of his term due to extremely poor performance. Now the company is filing a case against this. A rare few of the former employees who were dismissed or resigned from the company are filing cases against the company for their fair salary and other benefits.

It remains to be seen whether the former employee of the company, who was subjected to false documents and false allegations by the Meinhardt company, which has immense influence in the fields of finance, law, politics and governance at the international level, will get justice from the labor court. The next step is to determine whether the court will order the anti-labor Meinhardt Company to recover the full gratuity it is legally entitled to, the compensation it is entitled to due to being unexpectedly unemployed, and the full 8.75 days of leave salary, as the employee was forced to resign before completing 5 years due to threats from the company at the employee's request.
