Chidambaram suffers from Crohn's disease, needs immediate specialised treatment: Sources

On Monday, Chidambaram was brought to RML Hospital in the morning and later referred to AIIMS after he complained of stomach ache and illness. He was discharged in the night. Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that may affect any segment of the gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the anus. Symptoms often include abdominal pain, diarrhoea (which may be bloody if inflammation is severe), fever, and weight loss.

Shah, Uddhav will finalise power sharing formula in Maharashtra: Patil

BJP leader Chandrakant Patil has said party chief Amit Shah and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will finalise the contours of the "50:50 formula" for power sharing in Maharashtra. BJP sources said the discussion and agreement reached with the Sena on formalising the alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections this year, was on "equitable distribution of power and not on the post of the chief minister."

Will consider 'concrete' proposal from Shiv Sena: Prithviraj Chavan

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said his party will "consider" any "concrete" proposal on government formation in Maharashtra from the Shiv Sena, which is locked in a bitter tussle with the BJP over sharing of power. "We have not received any concrete proposal from the Shiv Sena. We will not take a lead on it. But if a concrete proposal comes from the Sena, we will consider it and discuss it with the high command," he said.

What BJP promised to Shiv Sena over 2.5 years as Maharashtra CM's post

Terrorists fire at CRPF personnel at Pulwama school

In yet another terror incident, armed terrorists on Tuesday tried to target children by firing at a school building in Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama. At around 3.15pm, unknown terrorists fired 6-7 rounds on CRPF deployment at a school which was an examination centre in Pulwama's Drabgam.

Both houses of Parliament deliberated in favour of abrogation of Article 370: Venkaiah Naidu

Irrespective of serious differences among members of the ruling and opposition parties over multiple issues, both houses of Parliament deliberated in favour of abrogation of Article 370 provisions in Jammu and Kashmir, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said on Tuesday. Delivering the first Arun Jaitley Memorial lecture instituted by the Delhi University, Venkaiah Naidu said the "idea of simultaneous elections needs to be seriously considered and discussed by all stakeholders".

Next CJI Justice SA Bobde, the SC judge who heard several key cases, now in Ayodhya bench

Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde, who was on Tuesday appointed as the 47th Chief Justice of India, is currently part of a 5-judge Constitution bench which will soon deliver its judgment in the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case. Justice Bobde will succeed incumbent Ranjan Gogoi who will demit office on November 17.
