United struggled to beat 20th-placed Norwich before Christmas, really struggled to draw against 19th-placed Newcastle on Monday, and I won’t insult your intelligence by telling you where Burnley are in the league.
We’re hardwired to perceive Manchester United v Burnley as a home banker. It isn’t, not the way United are playing, and it hasn’t been for the last few years. Burnley have drawn three and won one of their last five games at Old Trafford. Even when they lost 3-1 on Super League Day in April, they were level after 83 minutes.
