Nagpur: Days after Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s explosive letter alleging Shiv Sena leaders obstructing national highway projects in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray assured that the government will not allow anyone putting roadblocks in development works. Thackeray reiterated that such works will continue without any problem.
Thackeray broke his silence in his virtual address participating at the function to inaugurate Zero Mile Freedom Park at Nagpur. Thackeray, Gadkari and Union Minister of Housing Hardeep Singh Puri opened the Freedom Park and Kasturchand Park Metro Stations and also dedicated the 1.6 km Sitabuldi-Kasturchand Park stretch of Nagpur Metro.
‘’Nitinji, you speak softly but write the letter in harsh language. We both are workaholics. Shiv Sena chief had taught us not to betray anyone or commit treachery. I want to assure you that I will not allow anyone to interfere in the development works,’’ said Thackeray.
Gadkari had warned that if Sena leaders continue to hinder the works by threatening and attacking contractors and workers, the ministry will have to think seriously about approving national highway projects in the state.
Meanwhile, Gadkari showered praise on Thackeray saying that under his leadership the transformation is taking place in Maharashtra. Gadkari’s praise is a rude shock to a slew of BJP leaders who are targeting Thackeray on every issue.
