Indore: Indore consumed more than 1 crore units of electricity in a single day on June 16 whereas the power consumption in western Madhya Pradesh had increased by 17 per cent to 187 crore units in June, after the second wave of COVID-19 subsided, and economic and industrial activities picked up pace, an official said on Saturday.
In June last year, 160 crore units of electricity was consumed in western Madhya Pradesh, the official from Madhya Pradesh West Zone Power Distribution Company said.
"As the second wave of the pandemic subsided, normalcy was being restored rapidly in western Madhya Pradesh and the demand for electricity in industrial units also increased," the West DISCOM managing director Amit Tomar said.
Indore is the financial capital of the state which has consumed over 1 crore units of electricity in a day, he said.

URJAS ON CM DASHBOARD
The app of power distribution company Urjas App will reflect all complaints received on it at the CM Dashboard where a team will keep tabs on the complaints and actions on them by the concerned officials, said company officials on Saturday.
West DISCOM managing director Amit Tomar said that complaints regarding over 14 services will be reflected on the dashboard.
“The company is improvising the services of the app to facilitate the consumers and to take quicker and appropriate actions on the complaints,” said MD Tomar.
The services on which the company is concentrating more includes electricity bill download, bill payment, new connection, name change, usage category change, resolution on complaints of power cut, photo-meter reading, smart meter live and others.
MD Tomar has instructed chief general manager Santosh Tagore that notice will be issued to any officer who is negligent in updating information or handling Urjas services. This will be implemented from July 10.
