Indore: At a time when the government is felicitating various doctors for their services in hard times of COVID-19, the wife of a doctor has appealed to the government to pay tribute to her CORONA warrior husband, who succumbed to the disease while serving patients, by at least releasing her husband's dues.
She also alleged that her husband was a professor of surgery and a renowned surgeon but no one from the government came to meet me or to pay homage to him after his death.
“My husband was a professor in MGM Medical College and he succumbed to the deadly disease while serving patients in Super Speciality Hospital in May. I am afraid of the future of my children as I lost my husband. I appeal to the government to provide funds for the National Pension Scheme of my husband, medical reimbursement funds, his last month's salary, ex-gratia under corona warrior scheme and other funds at the earliest,” Dr Poonam Raikwar, wife of Dr RS Raikwar said.
She also released a video about the same and said that she had borrowed over Rs 25 lakh and even sold her jewellery for treatment of her husband.
“My husband's compensation and reimbursement have been pending for the last two months but the government is not taking any action over the same. I appeal to the government to help us and to provide us with pending funds as a real tribute to my husband,” Dr Raikwar told Free Press.
MGM Medical College administration has forwarded her applications to the administration and government already but it is pending at Bhopal.
