Ujjain: The administration has geared up to stop the crowd in the Manglik (auspicious) programmes to be held in the wedding venues including gardens and hotels during unlock period.
On Friday, the administration convened a meeting with the garden and hotel operators in the Police Control Room auditorium and told them to ensure that Covid-19 norms are complied with under all circumstances.
ADM Narendra Suryavanshi and ASP Amarendra Singh convened the meet on the orders of the collector.
There are only seven Muhurtas left for weddings in June and July. According to astrologers, these Muhurtas will fall on June 4, 5, 11 and 30 June and on 1, 2 and 15 in July. Wedding venues are experiencing a rush of bookings. In such a situation, the administration feels that due to unlocking, weddings on these dates may lead to breach of Covid-19 guidelines in a big way. After being overwhelmed with the havoc wreaked by the second wave of Covid-19, the administration is in no mood to take any kind of risk.
During the meet, the ADM and ASP made it clear to everyone that the Covid-19 guidelines would have to be followed at all costs. The venue operators have to ensure that only 20 people attend a wedding. If there are more than 20 people from both the sides, then the administration will not hesitate to take action, he added.
Honour collectorÃs order, return advance
The wedding venue operators put forward the problem of the customers who booked marriage gardens and hotels with pre-bookings for March-April and May and who are now demanding their advance money back. ADM made it clear to the operators that if the collector has issued an order to return the money, then it will have to be followed. Now you and the booker can work-out understanding. The operators have assured the officials that in view of the infection, they will fully follow the Covid-19 guidelines.

WEDDING VENUES OPERATORS BEAR LOSS
The wedding venue operators told ADM that they are troubled by the stagnation of business for two years. The first wave hit the country during the wedding season and their business was affected due to the lockdown. Some weddings were held in December. Malmaas took place in January. Weddings started, again in February but again the second wave of Covid-19 led to imposition of Janta Curfew. Therefore, there was no business at in March, April and May. Now only seven muhurtas are left for the weddings.
Suryavanshi and Singh expressed sympathy over the loss but also clarified that the administration cannot allow violation of Covid-19 guidelines and nor there will be any relaxations.
