Guna: State Government's Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Mahendra Singh Sisodia informed that for the purpose of successful implementation of Sathi project of Government of India, a signing agreement has been done between NAFED and MP State Rural Livelihood Mission, under which training will be given to the self-help groups for the procurement, storage, processing and marketing of the products prepared by them.
The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has taken this important step towards realising the dream of making Madhya Pradesh self-reliant. In the first phase, in the 21 districts of the state (Alirajpur, Balaghat, Barwani, Morena, Rajgarh, Sagar, Sheopur, Shahdol, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Dhar, Dindori, Singrauli, Mandla, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, Jhabua, Guna, Sehore and Satna), the project will be implemented in 100 development blocks.
Participation of self-help group members in planning, production, storage, price promotion and marketing will be ensured. In case of excessive production and under production the problem of self-help group members will be solved, agriculture cycle change will be promoted, the problem of post-harvest loss will be solved by promoting storage and value addition and self-employment opportunities will be encouraged in the state.
NAFED will set up ‘Sathi’ markets at the block level in which self-help groups will be able to market their products. Due to proper branding and marketing under this project, the products of the state level will get recognition at national level, the self-help groups will get fair price of the produce and they will also get online marketing facility too.
