Guna: Guna police on Thursday registered an FIR against four and arrested one accused in connection with suicide case of Jan Shikshak Chandramauleshwar Shrivastava.
Shrivastava attempted suicide by consuming poison in the office of block education officer on June 12. He died while undergoing treatment in Bhopal on the next day. He had accused resource coordinator (BRC) Shambhu Singh Solanki of harassment.
Guna police said that an FIR has been registered against four including BRC Shambhu Singh Solanki, block education officer Harinarayan Jatav, CSC Omkar Jhari and Ramswaroop Sharma under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Indian Penal Code. Police arrested block education officer Jatav and search for others is going on.
Many of the Jan Shikshaks from Guna district had raised the issue before Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digivijaya Singh along with state panchayat minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia. They have also written to police headquarters in Bhopal demanding justice for Shrivastava.
In their memorandum, Jan Shikshaks threatened to resign collectively saying that BRC Solanki behaviour towards them is not good. They claimed that Solanki treats Jan Shikshaks as bonded labourers and forces them to perform his domestic chores. He threatens the ones who raise objection by saying that he will withhold their salary.
Jan Shikshaks alleged that, BRC Guna used to pressurise them to get insurance from a particular insurance agent as his wife is an insurance agent. Faced with constant harassment, the Jan Shikshaks took to agitation.
