Indore: Fate of Bengali Square flyover to be decided on June 25

Indore: The fate of the Bengali Square flyover would be decided within seven days. The suggestions have been received by the department and the decision will be taken on June 25.

A meeting was organised on Friday to discuss the suggestions given on the development of the Bengali Square flyover and the elevated corridor from LIG to Navlakha over the BRTS corridor.

In the meeting minister Tulsi Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani other public representatives along with principal Secretary (PWD) Neeraj Mandloi, Indore divisional commissioner Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma, and other officials were present.Principle secretary Mandloi had specifically come from Bhopal to discuss this issue.

PS Mandloi said that the suggestions have been received for both projects. The given suggestions for the projects will be crosschecked by the experts and a report will be made on the suggestions and will be presented ahead of the meeting to be held on June 25.

The decision on the development of the projects will be taken after discussing all the aspects of development and its post-development impact on the public, he added.

Minister Silawat instructed officials in the meeting that the teams of the concerned department should do a survey of traffic flow on the roads where the flyover and elevated corridor will be developed and should submit the report in the meeting on June 25.

He said that a proper solution in the public interest will be taken out of both the projects. He said that if required he will discuss the issues with PWD minister Gopal Bhargava as well as with CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He said that before implementing any project the department officials should discuss the projects with the public representatives instead of taking decisions by themselves.

In the meeting, MP Lalwani said that the department should work on new techniques of engineering for the development of the projects. He gave a few suggestions from his side.
