Thane, June 7: Thanekars stepping out of their homes after the state government’s orders for unlocking the city come into effect will notice a beautified and colourful city in some parts of the city.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) as part of the beautification process to the city have started painting the walls of footpaths, flyovers and gardens across major junctions in the city.
The guardian minister, Eknath Shinde had ordered beautification of the historic and cultural wall and chowks, roads corner, garden and flyover. It will make the city look beautiful in the coming days. Accordingly, under the guidance of Naresh Mhaske, Mayor, TMC and Dr. Vipin Sharma, municipal commissioner, TMC. The work to beautify the city was started last week with colourful art and flowers.




Shinde complained about the bad shape of walls in the city with paan stains at most of the walls. As part of the beautification process in the city the colouring work was started. Shinde instructed how outsider's coming from other cities or states should identify the cultural and history of the city through the painting. Accordingly, cultural and historic paintings are made on walls at major junctions and flyovers. The different eye-catching paintings include human culture, birds, animals, trees, flowers among others are seen on the street. "The paintings are making the city beautiful with colourful paintings. Citizens are enjoying it by making it a selfie point and clicking group pictures. I have personally visited the ongoing work at Kopri, cadbury junction, anand nagar, anand nagar naka and Bara Bungalow," added Malvi.
Malvi further confirmed about the work to be completed within seven days and said the walls and flyover have been painted by students. "A tender was been approved for the work and accordingly the work is been started," added Malvi.
