Dhar: Waive interest, penalty in GST return, CAIT to finance minister

Dhar: Members of Dhar unit of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) submitted a memorandum addressed to the Union finance minister to the additional district magistrate of the district.

In the memorandum submitted to ADM Saloni Sidana, the CAIT demanded that the interest and penalty in the GST return be waived and the date of return and HSN code be extended while the hallmarking of gold and silver business which is slated on June 15 be implemented in 2022 after removing discrepancies in the rules. CAIT demanded that provision of punishment should be removed from the hallmarking process.

Along with this, they also demanded merchants should be allowed to revise GST returns, whereas, road tax of transport and interest on bank loan finance should be waived. UIT code in Hallmark law which is not feasible for traders be removed, they added.

While presenting the memorandum, CAIT state vice-president and Dhar unit in-charge Maheshchandra Maheshwari, Guardian Anant Agarwal, district president Sunil Sharma, city president Jitendra Ahuja and others were present.
