BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the treatment of mucormycosis is a costly affair, so the family members of those suffering from the disease need financial relief.
Chouhan made the statement at a review meeting of the corona pandemic on Saturday.
At present, there are 532 patients of mucormycosis in medical colleges and 200 in private hospitals, he added.
Chouhan said that health facilities should be improved in the government hospitals.
Besides that, there should be a mechanism to give financial relief to the family members of those suffering from cancer and other serious diseases.
There should be a system to monitor those who are suffering from kidney problem, thalassemia, heart ailments and other diseases, treatment of which is a costly affair, he said, it should be done the way the corona patients were examined.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to find out ways to lessen the financial burden of the family members of those who are suffering from serious ailments.
The possibility of the third wave of the corona pandemic has not yet ended, so the number of people being tested should not be reduced.
The contract tracing of the fresh corona patients should be done, he said.
