Leader kicks off his second Workers’ party congress by admitting strategy fell short in ‘almost every sector’
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said his five-year economic plan has failed to meet its goals in “almost every sector” as he kicked off the ruling Workers’ party congress, state media KCNA reported.
The rare political gathering, which Kim last hosted in 2016, has drawn international attention because he is expected to unveil a new five-year economic plan and address foreign policy, just two weeks before the US president-elect, Joe Biden, takes office.
