Simon Westaway, the chief executive of the Australian Tourism Industry Council, is speaking to the Covid-19 committee about the impact of coronavirus and border closures on industry.
He reports that the tourism industry has shrunk by $80bn in annualised terms, that is, it has halved over the course of the year.
