No grain shortage, says govt, warns profiteers

The government on Wednesday said there is ample availability of foodgrains to meet any exigencies and there will be crackdown on traders or businessmen who would try to profiteer during this crisis. Union minister food and consumer affairs minister Ram Vilas Paswan also said that 75 crore beneficiaries under the public distribution system will be allowed to lift their quota of subsidised foodgrains for six months in one go.
