Delhi's AQI in severe category despite mild showers

Even mild showers failed to bring respite from the deteriorating quality of air in Delhi/NCR as the AQI remained in "severe" category (401-500) in several areas of the city. At 9 AM on Sunday morning, the PM2.5 AQI was 499 in Delhi. The air quality hovered near the "severe plus" (Above 500) category for the entire night.
